Selling Some of the Clutter

See this pile of text books that do not have a home and just clutter my drawing table? These are the books that the stinkin school bookstore didn't want to buy back for whatever screwed up reason (if you can't tell I'm really mad about it).
So then we get stuck with these dumb general ed books and I tried to sell them to students on campus but I've had no success.

So I've been putting it off but finally I've sat down and searched through many websites that buy back books and I had to sell my books to different websites in order to find the best prices like when your searching for the better deals at different grocery stores.
First I used www.bookbyte.com because it offered the most money for my english text but then I realized that it didn't offer the most for my other texts. So I went to amazon but they only give you store credit. www.bigwords.com is like a search engine and they'll find the websites for you instead of searching one by one. From there it led me to www.betterworldbooks.com for the best price for another book.

While Shane finished making pancakes for breakfast :) I sold 3 books for a total of $45.50 cash and 25.58 in amazon credit.

  1. Nice! I love getting rid of stuff I don't use anymore and getting paid for it. Is that a kitchenaid mixer in the background? I like the pretty blue color.

  2. Oh yeah, the Kitchen Aid that Ahnica and I totally ruined the surprise on because Shane hadn't quite told you about. Was that your anniversary gift? I can't remember. Sorry! We love you guys. I need to go through some of my books and see if I can get rid of some. 'Course now I am getting nerdy and I like my master's class books (okay except for statistics and research design). Thanks for sharing, you guys are awesome!

  3. Well done!! I wish I had that kind of patience for selling junk. I just give it all away. Maybe we can put our heads together when you guys move back. 'Spose there's any hope for me?

  4. I have been using betterworldbooks for a while and I loooooove it! But I hadn't thought about using it to get money back from books. Say, you guys are good for being on top of turning in those books. I now feel sheepish for admitting this, but I threw away a lot of books, (statistics and research ones too, who needs them anyway?) Others I don't want to part with even though I don't read them anymore...yikes!

  5. I didn't even know there was such a thing as a buy-back website! Pretty cool, Ericka.

Sooo... what'd you do with all that Amazon credit??
